Feed & Forage Handling - TMR Mixers

Rissler TMR Mixers
Rissler Stationary Spiro Mixers

Spiro-mix is a new "twist" in the world of TMR feed mixers. It mixes forage and feed ingredients by its twisted reel or ribbon gently tumbling and lifting the feed while consistanly moving it away from the door end. At the same time, the 14" notched auger [3/8" sectional] is then constantly returning some towards the door end. This gives thorough end to end mixing and tumbling all the time, leaving no dead spots. There are only two moving parts, no sprockets, chains or large augers to chew up the feed and break down effective particle length, creating a more palatable feed. A rubber scraper on the reel wipes the tub clean. There is also a mixer now available with small changes for mixing dry type feeds such as for feed mills.

The shear edge of the auger trough has a saw tooth edgeto help pull hay apart. This allows shorter stemmed alfalfa type hay to be mixed in. For long stemmed or grass hay and large amounts of hay, the optional hay kit is recommended. The reel has notches with allow the knives to pass through and cut the hay. Knives are spaced at 6" apart. The optional hay rack above the auger, keeps long hay from dropping into auger until it is cut shorter, to guard against wrapping. Round knives may also be bolted to the auger to help cut hay and discourage wrapping.

Mix time is approximately 3 minutes, without hay. With hay, 8 minutes plus depending on hay type and amount. This includes running time while loading. Mixer doesn't need to be running all the time whole loading.

Stainless steel is proven to out last steel on mixer floors at least 3 to 4 times. We use solid 8 ga. S.S. on the tub bottom, and 10 ga. on the auger trough. The bottom half of each end is lined with 14 ga. S.S.

Low frictionball bearings are used through out. Bearings on the reel and auger have special poly seals on feed side and are pre packed with grease. A grease bank allows easy access to all the bearings. Early models did not have all these features.
